Replace a worn-out malfunctioning shower valve in Sudbury MA

Replacing the worn-out shower valve

A customer in Sudbury had a shower valve that had finally given out. Worn-out shower valves do a few telltale things: the handle gets stiff or sloppy, the temperature swings hot and cold while you’re in there, or it drips no matter how hard you crank it. Once it’s at that point, repairing it often doesn’t buy you much — replacement makes more sense.

Installing the new valve so the shower works right

We pulled the old valve and put in the new one, got the trim back on, and tested both hot and cold so the temperature held steady. A new valve done right means no more fighting the handle to get the temperature you want, and no more drip. Just turn it on and it does what it’s supposed to.

If your shower valve in Sudbury or anywhere in MetroWest is stiff, sloppy, or won’t hold a temperature, call Richard T. Curley Plumbing & Heating at (978) 562-3736. Usually by then it’s past patching, and a new valve is the fix that actually lasts.

Sometimes low pressure is the culprit rather than a bad valve — here’s a low water pressure shower repair we did.
