Repaired a hose faucet dripping – Northborough, MA
Why the hose faucet kept dripping
The customer called us from Northborough and said he had a hose faucet that was continuously dripping. We found the faucet worked fine — it just had a small drip. Took it apart, and the washer had a small crack in it from age. A cracked washer is the classic cause: the rubber dries out over time, stops sealing tight, and you get that steady drip that never quits.
Replacing the washer and stopping the drip
We swapped in a new washer and the drip was gone — everything works great now. A hose faucet that drips like that isn’t just annoying, it’s water (and money) going down the drain every hour it’s left alone. A new washer is the cheapest fix there is for it.
If your hose faucet in Northborough or anywhere in MetroWest won’t stop dripping, call Richard T. Curley Plumbing & Heating at (978) 562-3736. Usually it’s a worn washer, and we’ll get it sealed up in one visit.
